Husainat is a Registered Psychotherapist . She completed her undergraduate degree in Neuroscience and Mental Health with a minor in Psychology at Carleton University, and her master’s degree in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University.

Over the years, she has been involved in activism and advocacy to break the stigma surrounding mental health, and address the need for accessibility to mental health services for racialized communities and all communities.

With a therapeutic presence of compassion, warmth and non-judgement, she provides counselling to clients through an anti-oppressive, intersectional and culturally sensitive lens that acknowledges and supports each client’s unique cultural identity and context. Adam is currently completing his Master’s in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University and embraces and utilizes the therapeutic skills he has developed through his degree in his sessions. Adam’s goal is to help clients liberate themselves as well as to aid in the development of self-understanding via the use of empathetic listening, positive regard, and the creation of a safe space. Adam creates a safe space for clients to process their feelings, without judgement, and provides nurturing support and counselling to help clients effectively address personal life challenges; he also has a focus in helping to deal with trauma.
